I thought the same until I went there. It's much nicer than Pa Tong & Phuket. Girls are generally much younger and less expensive. It's all paid though; don't expect free hookups even if they find you attractive. Bangkok is a nice middle ground for hookups/mongering but the girls cost more.

I have to agree. I have a friend from new york. He comes to DR every 2 months.
