I want to geomax, but even a two-month gap would already look like a failure on my CV. Most jobs you can get in China also hurt your CV unless it’s with a major bank or another international company.
Do you guys actually care about your CVs? I know I’m still stuck in the “wagie” mindset, worrying about how my CV looks, but it’s really hard to break out of that way of thinking.
If CVs and the constant comparison with my former classmates and friends didn’t exist, I’d probably just live off my parents and geomax all year.

it is but it is what we have been taught our whole life in the west. go to school, study, get a good job.
no one gives a shit about a gap in ur cv, just lie if u need to. i lied about having a degree to get my job

also if youre not geomaxxing with a remote job then its worthless to geomax in the first place cos your money will run out, or youll work some brokie slave asia job like english teacher

I haven’t thought about CVs, credit scores, or LinkedIn in years

It's a real tradeoff. You have to make a plan. If you're going to teach, you need to find a way to frame your teaching as constructive to your career. Or just frame it as an "adventure" time of your life, which employers are very sympathetic to, believe it or not. Of course, you can also be a career teacher if you end up liking teaching.

This is also why it's important to geomaxx ASAP. The older you get, the more established you'll become in your career. And the opportunity cost gets higher and higher.
