i own a company now, my first and only [so far] client pays me 8k usd a month for remote 9-5 bs job i usually finish in less than 1 hour
best thing about this - compared to standard contract of employment you are not limited to only 1 job and of course they can't make you stay at your home moving your mouse every 2 minutes to keep green dot on microsoft teams

thus im packing my shit up again and going back to asia

its typical 9 to 5 work i did for years but youre not signing a contract of employment in particular company, you actually sign a contract between your companies that you will do x y z for them and send them invoice. and i just signed such contract with EY. from my experience i dont work more than 1 hour a day, there were weeks i didnt do shit as i was waiting for some access
