I have been to Laos what was a great country so I thought maybe I should go to Cambodia one day.

Then I watched this video and realized I will never go to that country in my life.

I'm not watching a 2 hour video about prison rape. what's the quick rundown?

He says he broke an ATM camera by accident because he felt on top of it because he was drugged.

Than he went to prison for almost a year I think where he got raped many times, lost all his money, amost died in prison and almost took his own life.

Says the Cambodian government sells organs from the prisoners as well.

i been to cambodia. And like any third world country. this guy was an idiot. ALWAYS ALWAYS bribe.

who gives a fuck if it's 1k or 2k or even 3k, MUCH MUCH better than this fucking tards expereince.

and learn, don't do it again

I been to cambodia many times. No issue.

but if you meet a police person. First thing you do, bring him to dinner or buy him a bottle of alcohol. Show him you are an asset. Then if you EVER have an issue, call him on whatsapp. Problems solved

fuck dude, learned this in DR. this guy is a dummy non traveler

Yesh thats actually a great idea to befriend a police men ngl.

So many stories of people getting in jail abroad could be avoided. Some tourists are just to stubborn and thats when they get fucked up. Like arguing with police is maybe the worst thing you can do.

If you get scammed its better to say u dont speak english and be really friendly and have a fake smile.

well the problem is again.....1st worlders think the 3rd world works the same way

IT DOES NOT. you can openly bribe police in 3rd world countries. And NEVER get in trouble for it. As long as you aren't filming him or whatever. They will just keep the shit you give them, food, booze, money.

but what you gain in return is a guy that is a local police man. Who will talk with other local police man, and say you got in deep deep shit. hit someone and killed them. That guy will still try to negotiate you out of it, but he will expect a bigger cut.
i got out of a car accident that was totally my fault once. only had to pay 200 dollars. ALOT better than going to a DR prison.

here in indo most cops don't drink. And food is cheap, so money is the only thing that talks.
i got out of a seat belt fine, simply paying 10k (80 cents). fold bill until it's really small. Shook his hand, with the bill hidden in my palm. he took it easily. on my way.

Yea just pay them off. They operate at lower levels of consciousness

I was going to a part of Pakistan once where foreigners have to get permits but didn’t know and ended up getting stopped at police checkpoint. Just ended up giving him 500 rupees which is $1 and was on my way

@Jamesothy what was it like in the era where you could bribe people in china

It wasn't so much bribing as it was getting the "laowai treatment", where you could just show up as a foreigner and often get a bunch of free shit. Whether it was free blowjobs from giggling rub n' tug girls or free medical treatment.

When I was in Wenzhou in 2012 I gashed my finger down to the bone on a door at the school I was working at. I had a friend I tutored drive me to the hospital and after the doc stitched up my hand he frankly told me it was gonna be free because I'm a foreigner and they just want to take good care of me. Now Wenzhou's a bit of a peculiar city but this perfectly illustrates the spirit of the times and attitude towards foreigners in China.

Everyone I know who were vets before I came say the real time to be there was before 2008. In that year there was a huge expo in Shanghai and they say that marked the beginning of the end of an era for living as an expat in China.

I've never had to personally bribe anyone in China but things were great back in day. 2014 I'd say is when I noticed a sharp change in the general attitude towards foreigners. Then in 2018 I had a horrible year. I don't know if it was just me or the places I lived in that year but Chinese people were horrible to me too many times that year. Schools fucked me around like I ain't never been fucked around with before too lol. Never experienced a school come up late with my salary or short with it before that year either.

A lot of folks on here talk about going to China but I don't think I would ever live there again unless some big things were to change. Maybe dudes on here are obsessing over Northern Chinese genes for their kids or something. Decent Chinese girls can be very difficult to find. Vietnam is much more promising and you'll feel like you can breathe living there. In China you're gonna feel stifled in some way after enough time goes by. Stifled and more separated as a foreigner.

I agree. Most of them are weird and stunted in some way

Imo, the biggest benefits to living here now is the quality of life and being left alone for the most part, not the women

Yeah, it's nice to be in a megacity where you can be left alone and not payed attention to.
