It’s a notch below Seoul/Tokyo, simply because of its size and the fact that you’ll run out of things to do within a couple of months. Also the architecture is somewhat ugly and the infrastructure isn’t as polished. But it’s got way less foreigners than them, especially younger guys (below 25), so you do get a massive halo in clubs and with girls in general. Although it’s definitely better than Hong Kong for sure.

High temp of 10 C in Taipei, that's horrid. Winter is working with you to freeze out the competition, kek. Hopefully it will be quite a bit warmer by the middle of April. Is lodging value for cost in Taiwan comparable to SEA? $20/night for a decent mid-tier room?

Used to be friends with a Russian dude who came to America on a J-1 visa to work in a national park in 2016, met a girl from Taiwan, they fell in love, then he ended up moving to Taipei with her. He loved it there.

Google Maps shows Taipei as having an extensive metro & airport link system. Anons on /trv/ have said that the food prices and variety are nowhere near as good as Southeast Asia. Just ate a huge plate of veggie fried rice with cup of broth and a glass of fresh-brewed ice tea for $1.70...in Taiwan I'd pay what, $6.50?

The winter’s are kinda shit here because it keeps drizzling all the time and is windy, and the houses have no heating or insulation jfl.
But there’s legit no competition here, close to 0 moggers, and the local guys are mostly manlets or nerdy anime types.
The prices in Taipei are close to Tokyo level though for clubs and restaurants, maybe like 20% less, can’t compare it to SEA prices at all. Even a budget hotel here would be 40-45$ a night.
But the local street food in night markets is definitely much cheaper than Japan/Korea, maybe like 1.25$ for a plate of noodles, could be comparable to Thailand, but I’m not sure about prices out there.
The south of Taiwan is much cheaper though, cities like Kaosiung or Tainan, and the vibe is a little bit more similar to SEA cities.
