Conversely, the U.S. sector is contracting with only 0.9% growth and a 5.5% drop in arrivals due to stricter immigration policies and geopolitical tensions. While the U.S. currently contributes $2.6 trillion compared to China's $1.8 trillion, the World Travel & Tourism Council predicts China will close the gap by the end of the decade.

I was kinda shitposting to trigger the Chinaboos but the trajectory is clear, being foreign will become less and less of a "WOW" factor, no one can predict how rapid and widespread this transformation will be. It took Japan a decade but as you said it's a lot smaller, on the other hand, the world is moving faster than ever....
