China is now on track to become the world’s top tourism economy as a sharp drop in foreign visits sets the U.S. back. Find out more here
China is poised to become the world's top tourism economy within the next three to four years, driven by a 9.9% growth rate and a surge in foreign visitor spending. Conversely, the U.S. sector is contracting with only 0.9% growth and a 5.5% drop in arrivals due to stricter immigration policies and geopolitical tensions. While the U.S. currently contributes $2.6 trillion compared to China's $1.8 trillion, the World Travel & Tourism Council predicts China will close the gap by the end of the decade.
