SIchuanese and Chongqing girls actually tend to have relatively light and clear skin for being in the south, that's part of the reason they are said to be beauties in china. And apparently all the walking up and down stairs makes them thicker. Chengdu is probably one of the the best cities for clubbing and nightlife in china.

I've met many girls from all parts of China.

Imo the most beautiful seem to come from the "midlands", i.e., above the Yangtze but not too far north.

• I've found that girls from the southern regions tend to have darker skin, less desirable facial features (e.g., the unmistakable SEA-like wider noses and bulging lips).
• Then I've found that girls from Mongolia or near it tend to have large, round, and moon-like faces with small monolid eyes. This is also not my type.

"Midlander" Han girls tend to look at lot more like Koreans and Japanese. Light skin, slender faces, larger eyes.

Things to keep in mind:

• "Midlander" Han Chinese are all over the place. They had a huge diaspora. You're not cooked no matter where you are because you're surely surrounded by them. Don't focus too much on the region.
• Remember that as the women get more beautiful, the men tend to get more handsome as well. I think the "midlander" guys are also the best looking. Therefore you're playing with fire in terms of SMV maxing.
• People of both genders are TALLER the further north you are.

Sadly I can't give you reliable advice because I haven't been there.

My intuition says the problem is Shanghai in particular, not the region. Shanghai is full of young money rich guys, models, famous musicians, and the like. Chengdu and Chongqing stood out to me because they appear to be large and fun cities like Shanghai, but less cosmopolitan, where JBW and foreignness will yield a much greater relative SMV boost.

Again, I'm looking from the outside in so this is just conjecture.

Sounds like a lot of effort and money for nothing when I'm 99% my conclusions will be the same. I'd never gone to Japan before moving there either and nothing surprised me because I researched thoroughly. May be a little naive but w/e

I was with a Vietnamese girl for a bit and the thing that shocked me is how fast and drastically the sun changed her skin tone. She was a lighter-brown skin tone like most Chinese, then woke up the next day and she was dark as fuck. They tan super easily. Lighter in winter and darker in summer.

Yeah there's a fair bit of variety in Vietnam. Probably SEA in general tho.
The first asian girl I got freaky with looked pretty similar, and I think it permanently fried my brain to hyper respond to winged eyeliner/wide eyes

Hella important to match with your pheno. I wish we had a site where we could rate people 1-10 and see how we match up with the average rating for that person. Even better if it tracked phenos to see which you find more attractive relative to the average person.

I could easily set up the first half of the project. I'll get a prototype running.

• User is shown a series of images
• Each image has phenotype data covering a few sliders (eyes, cheeks, skin, etc.)
• User rates each image from 1-10
• At the end user is shown which phenotypes they valued most and which they valued least

Then second half, that is harder, would involve:

• A: The user's preferred phenotypes stacked up against an average person's preferred phenotypes
• B: Where in the world that user's phenotypes are more common relative to the average demand for that phenotype

Item A could be done if I collected data from the first half.
