In theory its a pretty good country. Top tier convenience and services. You can have anything you could imagine wanting. Why the fuck do i hate it so much? All it takes is some photos of an American city for me have my stomach curl. Imagines make me feel empty and depressed. I cannot picture a future or any kind of pleasant life.

Australia too though probably not as bad. I think if you're a rich Chad though you can have a great life here though

What does a great life even look like?
Different for everyone but the standard is spending your life as a young Chad travelling and sleeping with lots of women, finding a cute slightly younger wife with a good personality in your 30s and spending your adult life raising kids, doing hobbies, doing meaningful work, and having a good marriage that works because your wife has a good personality and has shared goals with you

That’s a stereotype of what would make a lot of people happy

true.

that adult life part never really seemed appealing to me though so i didn't strive for it. to me it looks more like a trap that locks you into slaving yourself away for your family.

the state supports that lifestyle so that you remain a reliable tax payer.

It’s really difficult because the alternative isn’t very appealing either - being alone, chasing girls in your 50s. It’s like the search of lost time and at some point you could become a cringe maxed boomer.

i wanted to kill myself when i was living in NYC until i moved to miami

There's just simply no respect for the little guy in the United States. What do I mean? The last time I was in Europe, I was complaining to a friend that all the stores in France closed early. His reaction was not to label me some hyper-capitalist, slave-driver who wanted people to work around the clock. No, his reaction was different. "You just hate small businesses then!", he retorted.

I was taken aback by that. I'll be honest, my gringo mind wasn't really putting two-and-two together. How could requiring stores to close early, be good for small business? Shouldn't the opposite be true? Don't they want to be open as many hours as they can?

But, upon further reflection, it made perfect sense.

The mom-and-pop store can't hire three shifts and stay open 24/7. They just simply can't drive that kind of business, and the overhead would kill them. Not to mention, the local shopkeep, the butcher, the baker, the cobbler, and the plumber all have lives of their own. They need to take days off. They need time to spend with their families.

But the big-box stores can stay open 24-hours, 7-days a week. When you combine that with car-centric, low-density, sprawling suburbs connected by a network of freeways and arterial roads, suddenly that big-box store and the mom-and-pop shop are rendered equidistant, at least in terms of drive time. That's why small, family businesses are disappearing across the U.S.

You lose something when that happens. I hate to go all Robert Putnam on this, but small businesses, church groups, bowling clubs, The Elks Lodge, and the corner malt shop all played an important part in fostering community, and that's gone now.

TLDR over-materialism and lack of community?

Read op but not any other of the posts in the thread but I wanted to say just lol @ any EEcels who complain about their countries. I've known guys from EE who went to Western europe and said how shit it is. EE retards love to act like their place is a shithole when it's better than most of USA and west Europe. Complete clowns dawg.

The main thing is the opening of a prosperous future (hopium sentiment), and cultural ties/community i think that it has that USA and west Europe are missing.
