but again, for the most ambitious and willing to take risks

i understand not everyone can be like me, a modern renaissance man

an autodidact since youth

career + family + funds.
start a career in asia or transfer to your company’s office based there. or just start a business in asia

funds don’t matter (see my thread pertaining to priority inheritance)

and for family, we live in 2024. for 99% of places on earth, you can reach it within 24 hours

yeah i know, im kind of coping but my biggest fear is just burning out too early and losing any ties back home. I see your point and logic but I kind of want to build a safety net before I fully pull the plug, maybe its cope idk

Not cope. Having a foot in two countries is a great thing. I have family circumstances I won't go into which mean I absolutely must stay in the West long-term. Everything I do has to account for this, but I'm not upset about it. The eventual dream is doing international business that allows movement between East and West.

The West has a lot of wonderful advantages that you start to realize after living in Asia for a while. Politics (particularly identity politics) have fractured us in the United States but I think people are largely kind, honest, and open-minded and will be for a long time.

The United States still has the highest GDP per capita as well as the second-highest median income (only behind Luxembourg). It's a fact that it's a great country to build wealth.

USA, UK, and western europe's GDP per capita is growing faster than east asia

The map alex posted only reflects overall GDP, which is due to population increase not actual increase in wealth per person

dont get me wrong, the east has a shit ton of opportunities but they also have a shit ton of issues
without taking into account the culture shock, having to get a longterm visa, new language, far from your family, friends...
