What's the best part of Jakarta to move to?

I've decided Jakarta is where I'm gonna geomax to. Jakarta is a big city though. I was browsing booking websites and I realized that I don't even know where I should stay.

Which part of Jakarta? I think I remember reading somewhere that south Jakarta was better, but it's been a while.

Thamrin Residences is the best place to go to. It's nice, upper middle class, cheap, and at the city center near Grand Indonesia.

Good call center work to be found for English speakers in Jakarta I've heard. Traffic's fucked though. I might visit Indo one day but I don't think I'll ever go there. If I go to Bali for a family vacation some time in the next decade I'll definitely have to hop over to Jakarta as well.

Last time i asked and researched Jakarta there was no consensus on good places.

Most told me to get a place close to malls, but theres not good walkable places it seems. Nothing equivalent to Thailand in terms of easiness to get around or BGC in terms of walkability in Manila.

indeed. there is nothing. you will be taking taxis everywhere unless you live on top of a mall, and then the only place you can walk is to the mall. just try to be central

after the disappointment by Da Nang i booked a flight to leave vietnam. i probably shouldn't have rushed that much and just stayed in HCMC for a bit again because i know that's better, but now it is what it is.

i just arrived in jakarta and the change is quite the cultural shock.

it's super difficult to just walk the city, apparently not intended by the creators. i was walking around quite long just trying to find an atm and some food and it was just annoying and took forever.

they don't have the street food culture at all here. all the so called street food i saw was disgusting junk...

it's one of the least saturated cities with good pussy BUT the city sucks so much most people leave, its even more hated than Manila, cause i guess there at least they speak english and you have Makati/BGC
