Oh, then it's just about communication. If it's just sex then only the most basic communication is needed. For relationships it opens up a lot of girls simply because they can't speak English. I usually disagree with him but it's low-key true, these days speaking chinese well won't save you if you dont have other shit going for you (looks, height, etc) and they aren't into you in the first place, if you do have all that shit and then also speak chinese decently it can probably help you get better looking or more conservative girls that might otherwise have not really considered dating foreigners before.
Though you also don't need to be super good at chinese to be at that level, HSK4-5 is conversational which is like B1, and you can communicate 90% of what you might want to say.

I'm not really convinced this is true more so as time goes on as China continues to rise in prominence and while the women that speak English are more compatible with us, they are outnumbered by so many Chinese women that don't and some of them are probably still worth dating. Many htbs and stacylites do not speak English at all in Tier 2s and New Tier 1s.

Yes statistical misinterpretation or using poor or badly collected data can render your arguments ineffective but otherwise stats can be pretty reliable. That's a specific case you're talking about and even then I doubt the avg that goes out is 6'+ and im assuming the younger crowd is 5'9 there without looking it up due to demographics since hispanics are a bit shorter than whites unless you are talking about very specific venues or places at night that only tall white dudes go.

However I will say that the English speaking ability is not great even in Tier 1s. Unless things have changed since I last went even most Shanghaiers don't speak English outside if a few words, it was maybe like 10% of people there that could actually hold a conversation although in more touristic parts the rate was higher from my anecdotal experience. Shenzhen was far worse, it was more like 1-2% there.
