Advice turn on the new anki algorithm (FSRS) if you haven't already

did it last week and my review amount has gone down significantly and you can set your own retention rate (between 80 and 90% is best for languages) so it is superior. i was at like 85% on the old algo so i put in 85% for FSRS and i have like 20 to 30% less cards to review for the same retention

might update when i recalibrate after a while to see if this holds up longer term
