Geomax (To the Chinese delegation) how’s your guys language learning coming along

According to Migaku I know 151 words right now. So I guess I'll be HSK1 soon lol.
I'll have a much better routine come next month when I'm living on a more consistent schedule. Ideally I'll be studying for no less than 2 hours a day watching subtitled media, 10+ new flashcards daily, and listening to condensed audio of stuff I've already watched 24/7 with 1 earbud in

How is Hangzhou so far?
Really great. Still haven't been on any dates but I think I'm getting a couple lined up. Made a few friends, including last night went to a craft beer bar and the owner invited me to hang out with him and his friends which is chill. I figure the first step into big success is getting a strong social circle with Chinese people

My apartment is really spacious, much better than anything I had in Tokyo. And there's a lot of fun stuff to do outside, though it's mostly food and shopping

Is your apartment a free one your school gave you to live in as part of the contract?
And is it on campus or off?

It is the free provided one, which is why I'm surprised it's so good. Off campus, a couple km away which isn't quite walkable but still easy to get to
wish i had a big 7 passport to go teach in china man fuckkkkk

Stopped learning Chinese as I realized I don't see myself living there long term, which I believe is a pre-requisite for dedicating all these hours.

Still worth it for the social media, media and major expat communities I think. There are hundreds of thousands of Chinese speakers in just about every country especially if you want to reverse geomax
