Places in SEA have gotten more expensive, the days where you can just rent a penthouse and live a good lifestyle for 1-1.5k are simply over, in some places its even cheaper to stay in Europe or Australia (if you have accomodation in Australia)

I know a older guy that lives in Australia that told me everything is cheaper and better in AU.

It has gotten incredibly expensive for its value especially places like Manila as far as I have heard and tried, even though many of accomodations are vacant and there is a 7 YEAR backlog of unsold apartments.

Places like Bangkok were never live like a king for 1.5K USD. Anyone who tells you that are selling you dreams. 1.5K USD a month for Chiang Mai is decent as that was my budget for CM and this was during the ~2015. Bangkok you can easily spend 3K USD a month easy and the sky is the limit. But the value for money would be better than the Anglosphere.

if you want to live a western live and flexx, its same price or even more expensive
clubs and rooftops are more expensive than back in Europe
some guys end up paying in Bali 1k$ for a room in a villa
western food is very expensive, fine dining
gyms are more expensive too
co-working and all that bullshit

All right I'm only basing it off the old guy which he lives at the Perth and leaves very cheap maybe take rice and sometimes meet and doesn't have any expensive hobbies he said it's beds less than in Philippines but in Philippines he used to tax you a lot and eat out three times a week I mean a day

Most of my time was in Perth, family is there, this is actually still an insane statement, that old fucker must be retarded. Also flights to SEA are usually cheapest from there out of all the major cities, bali is literally a few bucks, thats why so many FIFO dudes live there.

even if Thailand=SEA, easily live in Hua hin on 1.5k even 1k, I’m sure even cheaper the more south you go into weird small towns. Chiang Mai is 1.5k.
2k, you can live even in the edge of Bangkok if you go digging for. 250/month (studio) I met a guy living like this. 1k/month is possibly in Bangkok still just uncomfortable not a glamorous life. He was living on 750/month gymcel.

Outside Thailand:
Penang 1.5k (but Malaysia shit for girls), Jakarta kinda same maybe 2k comfy, but 1k/1.5k is possible. My friend had a nice 1 bed for 400/month. Cambodia same, Vietnam a nice 1 bedroom can be as low as 300 usd/month.
