tl;dr please suggest ways to make small talk easier and become more normal

I spend 90% of my time at work building software, anonymously socializing, or researching by reading articles or watching videos.

I'm really not in touch with the broader culture. I will watch maybe one TV show or a couple movies per year. Someone asked me what I do with my time and I can't say the truth is that my day usually consists of reading/watching investment news and blackpill forums, watching youtube videos, and the occasional history book, home gym session, cooking, video game or porn session JFL. There's not much in common there. The first series I watched start to finish in over a year is the recent Cyberpunk anime.

Like take music for example. I couldn't tell you the name of any artist or song unless it's gigafamous like a Beatles song everyone has heard 100 times. This creates a shitty situation for me when it comes to making small talk. I have literally nothing to talk about which could be my biggest problem (aside from bodyfat %). How do you guys find out about new shit going on that you can use for conversation fodder? The times when I talk to someone about a shared interest and the conversation takes off it's 90%+ of the time about the gym, video games, travel, or drugs. Aside from those last two how am I supposed to connect with a woman on that basis? What do women even do besides social media and Netflix? Maybe I should just watch a random TV show every weekend? Spend an hour on Tiktok per day? Should I do mushrooms again and reset my brain? Or maybe try microdosing.

Even when I try to bring up stuff on my mind I just get hit with low IQ takes that I don't even know what to do with. Like if inflation comes up do I try to give them a lecture on interest rates or do I just say "yeah it's crazy right now man". Or if they talk about an investment they made it's usually something like "yeah man I bought XRP for under a dollar and it doubled and then I saw it starting to fall hard so I got out before it went all the way down". I will listen & give one I made but it's usually too complicated for small talk. Like I found a Uranium Ore supply gap and bought stock in this specific low-margin producer and it doubled. Or maybe I'll bring up some current event like the Ukraine war and the takes are always surface level shit that indicates they have zero actual knowledge of the topic and you can't even have a conversation with them on that basis. My dad is the worst for this because he just repeats what he heard on Fox News. Even if I try to talk to him & confirm his political biases he is sort of non-responsive. And it's not even like I have formed strong opinions on these either. I just know enough to know that what they said was formed without much knowledge but can't confirm or deny anything they say because usually these topics are grey areas.

And I am now considering as I write this - since my IQ is in the 130s, what happens if I go to a country where the average IQ is sub 90? I'll have zero in common with people there. Even less than here. I'll be like an alien to them if they speak English. What do normal people even talk to each other about? My social circle is like 95%+ high IQ and the less intelligent people I know are either scrolling through Instagram or talking about how they went somewhere and did something or they watched some new TV show or a sports game.

I do notice that when I smoke weed, I get comfortably dull and am able to enjoy myself/turn my brain off more and am a bit better at socializing. Are normal people walking around like they're stoned 24/7?

i hate talking to normies

muh have u watched any new netflix series recently (proceeds to talk about the storyline of some shit netflix show u dont care about)

LOL imagine being an npc normie fuck that shit id rather kill myself

& idk OP u wrote too much block paragraphs hard to read

One tip i have you should continue the conversation once you've got it going. The most charming individuals seek for conversation starters. They discuss subjects, hunt for inspiration, and pose inquiries that pique an individual's interest or get them fired up. It will be much simpler to maintain the conversation and avoid embarrassing lulls or aimless chit-chat if you focus your inquiries and intentions on creating sparks.

the way i hold a conversation is to stretch out everything I say. Like for example instead of saying "i like football" id say "you know i think football is actually quite good since blah blah etc"

and also pausing more in non autistic way. Over time you start speaking like a normie, instead of rushing your words and sounding nerdy

Just don't bother hanging around normies they'll make you retarded.

I'm semi-autistic as well but I sacrifice 3-4 hours a week to watch the most popular tv shows so I can have an easy topic I can talk about with people I know to seem NT and build relatability, that's what 90% of people talk about anyway, you can also just watch a few videos on how to get great at small talks and that should be it.

I would rather follow normie IG entertainment accounts for TV gossip.

Depends on your social circle, I'm surrounded by upper middle class kids so no one really cares about that type of thing, guys talk about video games, sports (F1, soccer), tv shows like House of the Dragon and the latest meme on Twitter/Tiktok.

Useless activities tbh. I would rather talk about money.
