M7.1 quake hits southwestern Japan, 0.5-meter tsunami observed
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 hit southwestern Japan, followed by tsunami of up to 50 centimeters after tsunami advisories were issued for the Pacific coast extending to the western part of the country, the weather agency says.
