Agreed that it’s a sign.
But there are also plenty of high iq individuals who don’t necessarily deviate towards autism and even if they do, some can hide it very well.

You could also argue that the ones who have those weird and unpopular views actually are only slightly above average in iq but having those views (that they may have developed thanks to higher iq individuals) gives them a sense of pride so they want to exhibit them to feel smart and feel different.
