If you need to "look for people to network with" ur probably talentless... Your talents will attract a network. Its usually a bunch of people talentless no one wants coming together yapping.

I do like networking events but they have to be rather specific. "Oh you are a database architect looking to build a site? I'm a front end graphic designer, we can work together" or whatever

On the other hand there are these generalized "business" and "success" networking conferences designed to "make connections in business" or something and idk, I can't imagine anyone worth anything attending one of those events. Feels really desperate.
