Genetic predisposition is only one aspect.

I believe people who get addicted to drugs/alcohol are severely lacking in life quality, social connection and more.
Possibly suffering from childhood trauma too.

Once your life is garbage, you try to escape it. You can do it with unhealthy food, videogames, alcohol/drugs, other things. These are all addictions.

@AlexBrown84 how did you cope with life when it was totally trash, you felt terrible, had nobody, 0 success, no joy in life, nothing to look forward to. You lost all hope.

Perhaps you haven't been in such a situation yet, be grateful for that.

I was considering deleting on .org after being banned, but I am going to leave the account up as a ghost without posting, because there is still some good users there I talk to in DMs.

Not going to post in a forum anymore where I am not welcome; get a 90% warning + ban for a shit-post in offtopic section.
While I could understand the initial ban, eventually:
No mod, nobody contacted me personally whatsoever to talk it through and get me unbanned, the warning lowered.

They think they can treat someone with 30k posts and 2.3 post-rep ratio like this JFL man. They are wrong.

They want to kill their forum, I am not going to stop them.
