In China, I think this might be the best app for dating, and for social life stuff in general. Dating apps aren't very popular, and Hellotalk is a bit noisy (I talk about some of the cons in another thread). Almost everyone uses Rednote

I’m noticing 1 problem using Hellotalk, at least for Chinese girls… the vast majority of profiles are whack
Only a very small fraction of them has:

• A profile picture that isn’t blatantly some celebrity or whatever; Chinese people use regular-looking non-famous people as their PFP if it’s aesthetic lol
• has photos in their Moments so you can verify their profile picture is even them, let alone not filtermaxxed to oblivion. And even then they might have pictures of some random in their Moments
• is actually 6/10+ and isn’t using uncanny alien filters (not that they actually make them any more attractive the majority of the time)
• and of course, is actually in your city. Some kind of “Japan ≈ Tokyo” thing probably makes it a lot more streamlined when using it for Japanese, I imagine

Looks like IRL game is the only consistent solution… only real 中文的人 china-boos will survive

... all that being said though, obviously that tells you how easy it is to set yourself apart because it's probably a lot more of the same for guys. AKA a lot of the stuff that was discussed in OP

A few people on the forum have blown up on Rednote back when a bunch of foreigners were using it for a bit after Tiktok shut down for a bit. I think it might just be as simple as spamming a million thirst trap selfies like a narcy tbh. Chinese people do the same thing and get like 2 likes though lol.
It's just interesting how hyper adaptive the algorithm is compared to something like Instagram. If you like 1 pic about a certain niche, certain location, etc. you'll instantly start seeing content relevant to it on your Explore page (and it'll gradually fade out too if you go on liking other things). I think you could become a local celebrity on this app, for better or worse. I liked a single pic about a certain scene in a certain city and voila I'm getting random posts about the exact same thing; sometimes pics of the same people but on different accounts.

This is basically the only video on Youtube

So does anyone have any insight as for what you need to become chad on rednote so you can slide in DMs and get concubines?

Also sometimes you see models that make an account and get hundreds of followers in like a day from 1 post that blows up. This might be the most blackpilled social media of all time tbh. This life ain't for me twin......

i'm not sure if being narcy on the app is the way to go. East Asia is a blackpilled region regarding looks but they also have a thing about social etiquette. every time i see a white male model on there it seems like the only ones simping for him are ugly women, old women and fags. you can't be TOO good looking because catfishing is so prevalent in asia and because they seem to have inferiority complexes regarding good looking white men unless they're 100% looksmatched. it's weird but for white guys i think being between a PSL 4 and 5 is the sweet spot for asia.

Hellotalk can still work but it's way harder. Which thread were you referring to where you listed cons? Too many women are on guard because delusional jeets and arabs storm their inboxes meaning they make every other guy suffer

The main problem is just actually narrowing down to finding actually legit people near you, as opposed to Japan where most people are in Tokyo, and where it’s less frequent to use fake PFPs and stuff. And most girls are really normie and you have to run boring NT mass appeal game. And so at that point it’s not very motivating.

i'm not sure if being narcy on the app is the way to go. I definitely would prefer this to be true. I guess it’s only natural a lot of the simps are just pebbles. It’s a massive country. That and the fact that I have a pretty specific taste in women is why I’m curious how you can use the algo to your favor, again as opposed to running ‘NT mass appeal narcy game’.
I’m a bit surprised about them having an inferiority complex tho

I think NT mass appeal game is more important in Japan and Korea. In my experience, Chinese-speaking women are really cool. Maybe it's because of my pheno I don't know. But I never felt like I had to walk on eggshells with them compared to Japanese women for example. If you say one wrong thing to a Japanese woman, it's over. Even if it was a misunderstanding.

I think that because it's a massive country with so many women, it's possible to just genuinely be yourself and you'll find women interested in you. Pick a few NT hobbies and just make sure you include your best looking selfies in there. I'm thinking about doing this myself.

I was actually talking about personality tho. I like metal, dyed hair, tattoos, etc. (I honestly don't know if I've seen a single girl like this on Hellotalk and I have like 300 unread DMs rn). I'm not even obsessed with that kinda thing when it comes to white girls, but in a society like China I think it's a major green flag, and I think I would go insane if my girl wasn't counterculturally inclined.

Pretty water advice but for niche appeal, find a girl in the niche you want, and then check her collects/following (this works better on ig cuz most ppl make it private on rednote) then take inspiration and apply the things from there that went viral to your posts.

For mass appeal, don't just post normal thirst traps with a caption like "I love china" like most of the retard foreigners on there, my algo is just foreigners rn cuz I'm only using it for my geomax research, and from what I've seen these posts will just get drowned out into even if the guy is handsome (partly due to what @geneblackman said about there being a lot of catfishes, ppl will just post images blatantly stolen from pinterest for scams)

A good way to stand out is to show you're actually interested/invested in chinese culture and not just trying to farm some cheap attention, the best way to show this is actually being in china obviously, then you can post yourself in interesting locations, and include cultural insights and stuff, ideally going past surface level things.

Overall this app has crazy potential because china is still really behind in the social media meta despite its huge market, so if you're serious you should take all of the advanced knowledge and meta info we have from western social media and use it there.

Theres also a lot of good content you can make and ways to stand out while being a foreigner in china so you should leverage that for sure, and it doesn't have to be just basic mass appeal slop, there's a big enough market that you could get creative with it and reach your ideal niche while also building a following.
