Do you get depressed when you go solo-travelling?

maybe i'm just a low T cuck but even when I was away for a week and I met a few girls, I still felt lonely af walking through the streets seeing all the couples, happy friend groups etc. Made me go a bit insane.

I'm an introvert and there's lots of moments of feeling down
i imagine an extrovert must have a hard time going solo, even if you meet a lot of people loneliness is a lot more complex than that

yes but it is still better than travelling with someone else. i want to plan my day myself and do what i want all day
I don't like travelling with people either unless they have the same plans as me. Travelled with two gays once and they just wanted to rot on the beach all day which was fine but then at night they didn't want to go out clubbing either.

Not depressed, but I can often feel "dissociated" for lack of a better way of putting it. That feeling of being in the absolute middle of nowhere about as far as I can be from my motherland; mixing in with gigantic crowds but also sticking out like a sore thumb; going on long train rides where I'm not "doing" anything myself besides just watching the world pass me by, yet feeling some vague sense of motion/progress as I go to and from nowhere. Wanderlust

yes, this is exactly what I was thinking. Well said. It doesn't really feel real to me. When I get back home it feels like it was all a dream.

kinda but only when i’ve been continuously going to new cities every week for 4 months straight

i wrote a thread about it while rotting in nanjing

Can studying mandarin cure my depression?

This is a normal feeling. The issue is that you're logistically constrained from relationships when you do short-term solo travel. I would never travel anywhere by myself for fewer than ~3 weeks unless I knew somebody at the destination I was traveling to. Or unless I was going just to see natural or historical sites.

Same. When I did a whirlwind 5 cities in 2 weeks trip and felt awful.

I don't solo travel and short term anymore for that reason. Better to relocate somewhere and build a strong social group, wingmen, get to know neighbors, etc.

Yeah, and a nice bonus is that once you've lived in a place you have a strong enough social group to short-term travel there, more or less permanently.
