This whole society is based on equality. Having money in China is way more beneficial for your life conditions than in Europe for example since the inequalities are so drastic.
Money gets you women of course (way more than in Western countries) and more importantly gives you access to drastically different life quality. While in Europe, money is a nice accessory but not critical, money in China is a way more potent tool to live a great life.
Living in China as a poor or average person is pretty miserable, with poor quality houses, dystopian neighborhoods and staying around low quality women.
Living in China as a rich person lets you do pretty much anything whereas money without looks in Europe is still miserable.

BUT I will say that living a "refined" lifestyle is a contributor to social status, which does boost your SMV. And obviously you need some money to achieve that. Things like having higher university degrees, a fancy job title, sophisticated clothing, etc. are SMV boosters and you could argue it's because they signal wealth or affluence. It's not directly related to the number in your bank account though, you can go a long way with this while spending little

As an example, you can try signaling that you have hobbies like golfing or sailing. You don't need to own an expensive set of golf clubs or a boat. It's just the association with the class of people who does those things which scores you points

When I walk the streets, the only hot girls that I see are with ugly rich men. Chinese women also expect you to pay for everything so it makes sense that they want a rich man.

In big cities, most beautiful women are actually women from other poorer regions who came to those cities to ascend economically. I have seen countless examples of those girls and I see very well that money is primordial.

When I walked the streets in poorer areas, I literally never found any decent looking woman.
