Money did not play a role in this. I was so poor when I was with this girl, like legitimately only had a couple hundred in my bank account. I think money is cope when it comes to getting girls since you can't buy attraction, but it does help a lot in other ways. It just sucked when I'm living off a poverty diet of onigiri rice balls and ramen and then she suggests some expensive restaurant so trying to balance her expectations with my financial reality.

I'm aware this is pretty atypical but it's worth noting that I was a university student and she had just graduated with a decent pay job so she wasn't expecting me to provide much. I've been with less attractive girls who are more demanding of me financially so it really depends on the girl.
