Next, dig through the sales on MUSINSA here: https://global.musinsa.com/us/main/sale. MUSINSA is a Korean retailer that vends a lot of Korean brands, everything from GU-style cheap collegewear to genuine luxury brands. They are basically an aggregator for brands so you will always find something different. My favorite brand is thisisneverthat. I have gotten some fantastic pieces for very low prices. Shipping to the U.S. will take upwards of 3 or 4 weeks.

If you want to go full host mode/visual kei, check out ACRO TOKYO: https://acrotokyo-global.com/. In particular this is the best place to get host-style shoes/boots which are hard to find elsewhere. Can't find any good shoes in stock right now... they recently had LoveHunter brand boots which are great.

Finally, for more expensive pieces, just look for secondhand stuff on eBay. IMO everyone needs a wool overcoat. If you wear it in the nightlife it's going to get fucked up anyway, so you might as well spare your wallet and get something secondhand. This advice does not apply to complete suits... get a tailored suit for use in professional settings.

Insane how fucking many shoes there are; impossible not to have a clothes shopping addiction if I was an East Asian girl wtf. The west is ruined if girls can't get their Mercari hauls due to tariffs. On the one hand I feel like most of this stuff, or at least the shoes/accessories, are all made in the same 2 dozen Chinese factories, but in reality Japanese brands are usually what you want to go for if you want unique patterns/fitting and be anti-fast fashion

I want to like the vkei/Shinjuku aesthetic (for girls) but honestly it's kind of eye bleach to me after being exposed to it for so many years just off social media and not even living anywhere where it's remotely popular, but maybe that's just me.

I think all the baggy clothes might be part of some body positivity psyop where people don't tailor their clothes anymore and that we should bring back heroin chic (you can keep up with fashion in Saigon/Bangkok if you're into that; things are more minimalistic and gothic there I think)

Every other fit follows this blueprint and it's definitely female gaze. Why? It screams "Half my fit was bought at Uniqlo in the past 18 months and I put effort into my appearance" and all they need is social approval.
All of a sudden you're a fashion icon if you tuck a baggy top in your pants (as long as you're Chang), which I guess is a fair move since guys who wear athleisure slop don't even wear belts lol.
It also lets you fraud a X/V taper if you're a framelet from a lifetime of microplastics from all the 7-eleven cup noodles

True, they're pleather. IME nobody can really tell the difference, especially because I'd only wear these types of shoes in nightlife environments.

This photo and the style you describe is heavily Korean-coded, from the tuck-in to the hairstyle. Japanese guys don't really dress like this.

But yeah if you wanted to pull off the look you describe you can just search "BTS fashion" and get tons of inspo. I'm personally not a fan of the look. My legs are too long to do a high-waisted tuck-in style.

The frame frauding is real tho and a nice bonus for skinnycels like me, although I'm not quite a framelet

You can't win in the summertime. Just get the thinnest blazer you can find and layer it over a t-shirt. Long sleeves are law

Rayon/viscose pieces if you can find something you like. Wearing (non-baggy, but even then) cotton near the equator is a sick joke. I mean you can get used to it and everything but feeling soaked is kinda fucked up
Japanese brands like Tornado Mart have a lot of shirts, but for tees you’d have to shop for random designers/just get blanks from wherever

Great pics. The individual pieces are pretty in line with my style. But there's something about the whole presentation that is very much not my style, like it's a bit too charai, but also too grungey. The first photo is what I'd call "homelesscore". And the guy laying on the ground in the second-to-last photo sums up the homelesscore mood pretty well too.
