- Cash and unchanged tech for backwards compatibility
- mixing old and new tech together and creating “features” for convenience no one cares for

China:
- Controlling the way you use stuff
- adding guardrails in the name of sinplicity
- restricting features and preserving “future” or whatever

Can someone expand on my ideas for a fun thought expiriment
