North Texas men indicted in the Eastern District of Texas for an international murder/kidnapping scheme​

PLANO, Texas – Two north Texas men have been charged in relation to a plot that included invading an island off Haiti, murdering the men on the island, and using the women and children as sex slaves, announced U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Gavin Rivers Weisenburg, 21, of Allen, and Tanner Christopher Thomas, 20, of Argyle were named in a two-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Texas charging them with conspiracy to murder, maim, or kidnap in a foreign country and production of child pornography.

Information presented in court indicates that between August 2024 and July 2025, Weisenburg and Thomas are alleged to have conspired to recruit and lead an unlawful expeditionary force to the Island of Gonave, which is part of the Republic of Haiti, for the purpose of carrying out their rape fantasies. Weisenburg and Thomas planned to purchase a sailboat, firearms, and ammunition, then recruit members of the District of Columbia-area homeless population to serve as a mercenary force as they invaded Gonave Island and staged a coup d'etat. Weisenburg and Thomas intended to murder all of the men on the island so that they could then turn all of the women and children into their sex slaves.

Weisenburg and Thomas undertook numerous overt acts in furtherance of their invasion plan, including making operational and logistical plans, learning Haitian Creole language, recruiting others to join the invasion plan, and researching and enrolling in schools to acquire skills relevant to the invasion plan. Thomas even enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to acquire military skills relevant to the invasion plan.

Weisenburg and Thomas are also charged with production of child pornography in a related count in the indictment.

If convicted of the federal conspiracy to commit murder in a foreign country, Weisenburg and Thomas face up to life in federal prison. If convicted of the federal production of child pornography charges, both face at least 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison.

This case is being investigated by the FBI, U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations, and Celina Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Locker.

A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Their actual criminal plot reads like some turbo-edgelord troll stuff I would've written as a teenager. Absolutely hilarious. I read somewhere else they were even in Maryland at some point trying to recruit homeless people to help them out, lmfaooo.
Very surreal to me to think that I'm the same age as these guys seeing as I'm 20.5 years old. Can't imagine facing life in prison over something this absurd and ridiculous.

If it were up to me, these guys should just be put in some psych ward instead of prison. It's pretty crazy the steps they took for this though, one of them enlisted in the military in order to prep for their big plan. Keep in mind that island has tens of thousands of people and they thought just 2 early 20s guys could take them all down and enslave them, complete Loony Tune stuff.

I think these guys have to be some of the craziest geomaxxers of all time, rivaled only by the likes of Peter Scully.

What I'm wondering though, how in the hell did they even meet each other and begin to talk about this stuff? Like what are the odds you find another guy in the same town of 5,500 people as you that also has a specialized interest in this and is willing to go to these lengths to accomplish this stuff? I imagine their conversations slowly escalated and it wasn't like one of them randomly said 'yeah, let's kill thousands of people on an Island and then keep the women and children as sex slaves.'
I wonder the same about Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris but school shootings are much easier to carry out than killing thousands on an island and school shootings are weirdly less socially taboo to talk about and less stigmatized than even pedophilic and rape stuff is.

What do you guys think of this story? Honestly it's pretty cagefuel to me.

I also find it difficult to comprehend trusting anyone else ever with information that sensitive. I'd be way too paranoid of uttering a word about it to anyone if plotted anything like this. Same situation with Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. If even one person says the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person, you could both easily end up in prison for life.

Moral of the story;
Don't do anything too insane, but if you do, don't tell anyone. There's no benefit in saying a word and you'll probably end up getting caught.
