They make a lot of money from sex tourism so a reputation for imprisoning foreigners is the last thing they need and they really don't want to deal with having foreign people in their jails because of the hassle of having to deal with shit like that. plus the hassle and expense of deportation. plus that person they spent tax money on won't contribute to the economy bc they don't pay taxes to indonesia and won't be able to buy shit. it's like how the US will sometimes just deport mexicans instead of jailing them.

do you know that if a club gets raided (they do from time to time when they don't pay their extortion money or the club owner pisses off someone more important or rich than him)
the police can simply point at YOU and say bathroom now. make you do a urine test and if you test postive. OFF to jail you go. (even if you say flew from canada, you smoked pot before you left) and touch down and THC is in your body still
