in may of 2023, i left thailand and embarked on an odyssey not knowing where it would take me. from london to seoul and every country you can think of in between, i explored. from the great wall of china down to the jungles of bali i went. along with a quick trip to washington dc in the americas.

and this month, i’ve finally made my decision as to where i’ll be settling down

it was a good run these past 2 years along with all the adventures i’ve gotten myself into and people i’ve met. from civil war maxxing in myanmar and spending a valentines with a slim tall burmese girl in mandalay, to getting pistols pulled on me by the taliban, to surviving a 7.7 earthquake in bangkok, i could go on but ill try and keep it brief.

sadly as you can see in my bio, im now 23, so have officially exited my youth. age is finally catching up to me and i feel the pain in my bones from climbing mount kilimanjaro, riding hundreds of kilometers on horseback in mongolia, and so forth. just this day alone, i feel cold liquids in my knees! i don’t think ill be able to go on long campaigns similar to how i’ve just finished 2 years of living out of a backpack in the future. but i will still continue to explore the last few regions of the world i haven’t seen yet, however will use my new apartment as a base of operations to take monthly trips to new lands, and as a space to store my collection of loot i’ve accumulated from around the world

it’s quite interesting how i just happen to end my 26 liter backpack lifestyle on the 2 year anniversary of starting it

i’m sure riding 1,000 kilometers over the span of 2 weeks in korea going down the west coast, taking a ferry to jeju and circumnavigating the island, to then head to busan didn’t help my knees either

all while sleeping in a tent with my little backpack

My brother is a backpacker since many years. His knees are quite fucked.

i don’t think it was necessarily cuz i was carrying a backpack, it was only 26 liters afterall, but mainly cuz i was taking 13 hour buses and trains sitting for most of it, along with climbing mountains and cycling

What did you carry in the backpack?

Did you just have one pair of field trousers?

Pretty based ngl.

Want to try this when I deploy again.

One backpack with everything.

two pairs of pants, one green for field activities and one pair of black trousers for evenings
