Yes and if you want to live there for an extended period of time you will probably be an English teacher in some capacity.

You can get by with English especially somewhere like Shanghai but if the question is "is it worth it?" in my opinion the answer is no, unless you are willing to learn Mandarin. Might as well go to a number of other countries.

JBW still works in China, that’s why i’m interested.



I could become an English teacher but that would mean i’d have to go uni and get a degree and pay student loan for years…

Depending on how much you care about getting banned from the country, it's still possible to get a job without a degree, you just have to find unscrupulous recruiters who will get you in.

Another underrated option is going to university in Asia. I know it's a thing in China, but only personally know people who have done it in Japan.
