1. Corp Tech sales job:

Pros:
-Higher income ceiling
-More stability
-Higher status
-Will set me up for early retirement
-Will set me up to provide for family since I will end up settling down in America

Cons:
-Very stressful
-higher status but not high status enough to attract HTB+ that are under 25.
-Only get 20 days of PTO (and half of those are devoted to family gatherings so it’s more like 10 days only, so real geomaxxing is out of the question) (Biggest Con)
-Stuck with Denver dating scene which isn’t horrible but I’m assuming I can still get way higher quality in LATAM/EE

2. Start Seasonal Home Improvement Business

Pros:
-Get 4 months off to geomaxx
-More freedom
-more scalable

Cons:
-Lower income ceiling unless I run a crew (prob capped at 70-80k/y post tax and biz expenses)
-Less stability
-Status min
-Early retirement prob not in the cards

Feels like 2. Is the better choice but I’m 25 and have golden handcuffs to the cushy corp path. Too pussy to keep experimenting with new business models/career paths since I don’t have much time left to enjoy youth and wife up a non roastie/have kids

Obviously take the higher paying job. Grind for a few years, network, and then transition to a remote tech sales job.
Yea but even with a remote tech sales job u still have to work in America. And VPN/Router option isn’t really viable post covid. Theres some US software companies that hire in LATAM but those options are scarce. Idk

Can’t you just switch to a night shift type schedule in Asia for a remote US based job and still interact with clients back West during their day or is it too easy to be caught these days with surveillance technology or something?

Maybe just get a teaching job if your goal is to be in Asia…
Otherwise, if you prefer Latin America or Eastern Europe, there’s no quick and easy solutions for relocation to those regions that I can think of so no idea what to suggest for those lol

Well what's your OTE rn, that 250k ote looks nice but usually it's a 50/50 split and then you have to keep in mind it's a lot easier to be creative with taxes as a biz owner vs a w2.

I actually use to be in tech sales but quit to start my own residential service business. Making less money this year and the next but in year 3 I will be making bread and in year 5-6 i can probably sell my biz and be completely retired at 30.

You can make more as a w2 employee but you're not growing or building an asset that you can sell, also worst case scenario if you get laid off you always have to deal with finding a new job

What’s residential service?

Too easy to get caught nowadays. Plus night shift would be ass

Can I pm you

2 seems less suitable to geomaxxing than 1 to me.

4 months isn’t a whole lot and if you’re good at tech sales getting an online sales job (even one that isn’t tech and isn’t in the US, the product will probably be less complex too) shouldn’t be too hard

Yea there’s def a lot of remote 1099 sales roles but like I said before the schedule with the time zone would be so shit that SEAmaxxing wouldn’t even be worth it as an American. I’d only be limited to LATAM

And that 4 months is more like 8 months since I wouldn’t be working at all. I’d have the full day as opposed to working for 8-10hrs a day

eu maxxing might be possible if u stick to the west, i think spain stays out really late jsut casually

What’s residential service?
things like pool care, pest control, hvac services, lawn care. All relatively boring businesses but they can scale well and after a few years can be sold for a life changing amount if done right
