Learning Chinese or Japanese? [move to geomax]

Chinese. It’s the typical blue ocean / red ocean analogy.
Japan is cool and stuff but it’s mainstream and now it’s flooded with tourists that diminish your outsider value… It’s still a good destination though.
If you want to experience true white halo, you can go to China (avoid SH and HK for that though).
China is a country that is high barrier of entry but once you master it I think it’s one of the greatest. China also has a booming economy that allows for a lot of opportunities if you play your cards right and are actually qualified and speak mandarin…
For you to appreciate it you got to make the effort, now I understand that.
If you want a short term fix, Japan is prolly easier but for long term life plan I think Chinamaxxing is law in this day and age.

Is ideal for breathing polluted air all day
Not because of specifically china, but Singapore, Taiwan, KL and surrounding all have Chinese speakers; EVEN USA has Chinese speakers that would be good to game with Chinese… jap? Can’t be used outside Japan and they all are about to die anyway from population collapse…

Legit chinese is actually very useful, I speak it at an HSK 6 level, in just about every country (but especially asian ones) there's a shit-ton of chinese who have basically formed their own underground economy and being able to utilize that to move money, make life easier is very very useful. Chinese are usually more chill about letting you into their circles if you speak good chinese compared to say koreans.

I haven't been to China before but I'm fluent in Japanese. I've been told by reliable sources that geomaxing in China has a better effort/reward, women is japan have insane standards.

This is by far the most important point that made me interested in Chinese in the first place. The diaspora of Mandarin speakers is gigantic. Anywhere you go you will find a Chinese community who is excited to hear you speak their language. On the other hand there are virtually NO Japanese speakers outside Japan.

Imagine if, god forbid, you got banned from Japan. Or Japan got nuked (again) or whatever. You'd be utterly cooked and your whole investment into the language and culture would go up in smoke.

There are also a lot of smaller factors that make Mandarin a better choice imo:
  • J-girl halo effect. For some reason Western guys are obsessed over Japanese girls, also Korean girls to a lesser extent. But Chinese girls get knocked down a notch because of their nationality. Take advantage of the disparity. Chinese girls are equally cute if not cuter.
  • Economics. Good luck making money in Japan. Enjoy your 50 hour work weeks making half the salary you'd make in the U.S. Enjoy having to compete with every other white nerd whose "dream is to live in Japan". Population collapse, GDP stagnation, etc.
  • Kind of ties in to the diaspora point but the diversity of girls. People from Beijing, Guangzhou, Taipei, Kunming, Harbin are all going to look and act completely different. Meanwhile people from Sapporo and Fukuoka are going to be pretty much the same. China is a lot more like Europe than it is Japan, many different cultures and ethnicities united under a region.

God damn right.

Now with Japan out of question :
I wonder what work conditions are like in China… Having to work endless hours in an ultra competitive environment for a lesser salary (compared to the US) is a bit of a drawback. Obviously the COL is lower (not in HK though and still expensive in SH).
Also from what I’ve seen there is a lot of nepotism in China (I want to work in finance) so this could be a real hindreance… At the same, I’ve heard foreigners are advantaged.
It’s pretty complicated.

As far as the women are concerned, I think it’s a great choice for long term. Probably one of the best country out there to find a wife.

The whole climate and air quality thing has to be considered though…

This was my intuition as well, but China sucks in many aspects. How's the air quality and stuff?

Air quality can be bad but you can deal with it. At first I thought it was horrible.
Then you just check it everyday like the weather and decide whether you put on a mask or not

Which cities in China would be best for white boy to emigrate to?

The air is better in Beijing from what I’ve been constantly seeing on my AQI app…
Beijing is the home of the power, and the political aspect of the country is strong there.
I guess it has good transportation since its the capital and cities in China have a nice transport network

I'm curious about all of this too. My feeling is that you're going to a lot better in China if you specialize in some kind of international operations. I would never want to compete with the Chinese labor force in a capacity where I can't use my foreign status and English language as an advantage.

1. Non-toxic air preferably

2. High population and higher odds of finding a rich Chinese wife with connections to CCP.

3. Preferably walkable or good transportation.
You are probably putting the cart before the horse. It's better to get a short list of cities you'd be willing to move to, then pick the best opportunities from among those cities.

For me this is Chongqing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai. Still open to other large cities but I mainly keep my eye on these.

For your criteria I'd probably recommend Guangzhou or Shenzhen

So Beijing it is then
prolonged outdoor exposure will give you a sore throat at a minimum in most cities

when i was traveling, i got a sore throat/ cough in the following places, with severity in descending order

xi’an

shanghai (but u did stay here the longest, around 3 weeks)

beijing

chengdu

This is a big problem actually. Throat cancer kind of sucks.

I have never in my life seen a Chinese girl with a non Chinese man, in the UK at least. I know some guys who fucked japs, but the Chinese stick to their own very strongly, according to my experience. Just met a Chinese couple in the middle of the Sahara, made me realise this.

Is this true? Can intel confirm?

Not true at all in the U.S. Every other ABC is dating a white guy. It's true to the extent that it actually causes some tension between Asian guys and white guys. "They're stealing our women" and all that nonsense

I don't mean Asian Americans, I mean born and bred Chinese who go to a UK university for example

Ahh yeah, it's a little less common but that's to be expected of international people. I would still say that maybe 20-30% of female Chinese exchange students date white men. Not too different from white male students in Japan dating Japanese locals

This is just anecdotal but out of all of the undergrad students I knew from my chinese uni who went to america for their masters all dated chinese dudes. In my korean uni out of the hundreds of chinese I only knew two girls who dated white dudes, one who was a ho who would go to clubs and make out with any dude who approached her, the other some ugly fat girl who was annoying and also a ho. Generally they only dated other chinese or koreans but since there weren't that many white people who spoke good mandarin it's hard to say how much of an impact that could make.

Yeah I may need to rethink what I said. In my university too, none of the Chinese exchange students dated non-Chinese. They weren't even really friends with non-Chinese. Thing is I went to a fairly rural-suburban university. I thought it might be different in big cities because I see a ton of Chinese-looking people walking around with white dudes on the campuses. It's totally possible they're Asian American.

Yeah Mainland Chinese due tend to stick together alot, though IMO it seems like they are more chill about kind of letting you in if you can speak chinese decently. It's weird because alot of people on geomaxxing adjacent sites brag about getting mainland chinese girls "easily" but in real life I haven't really seen that most of the time (unless, they're legit chadlite or above).

Yeah from what I've heard, international students are very clique-y and try their best to stay in their bubble, but it's still possible to get "in" on the whole circle if you were to start dating one, and then the world is your oyster.
