i figured that asians in the west don't have the usual asian taste. they still don't like long beards but almost all of them told me they prefer a stubble beard over clean shaven. especially in berlin which is pretty much a beard city.

but yea when i'm in asia this winter i may have to reduce it or shave it off indeed. afaik the recessed boy look gets less punished there than a big beard.

Sure. I'll be there for the rest of the year so I hope that'll give me enough time to finally ascend. Then I want to try japan again after that, I just can't get over it.

Yeah, Japan seems like hard mode for foreign guys in general so I’d suggest you skip that country entirely and go straight to China or Vietnam instead, or at least Taiwan or South Korea if you’d prefer more westernized places, but I think the latter two are also on the more difficult side…
