After a month of blueballs they finally approved my application. Seeing all these posts about people getting approved in 3 days got me nervous but I guess good things do happen sometimes.

Also this is just a rumour, but a friend of a friend told me Vietnam is going to introduce something similar soon. I would treat this as a rumour but apparently Thailand has made shit tonnes of money off this visa and other SEA countries are looking to do the same

More meat to the grinder..

Have fun tho

how strict is thailand with taxes? can you stay 180+ days without having to pay taxes? i already pay 40% in my shithole.

isnt that this one you can stay 180 days and pay like 10k baht every six months? and its valid 5 years. it seems useless tbh
and expensive
i assume its only because after nth visa run they would eventually refuse you to enter, but i stayed like 8 months straight doing 2 visa runs

why people get this visa?

The 10k is only the cost the first time you get the visa. The 6 month extension is 1900 baht. Thats cheaper than a few visa runs

How is it useless and expensive?
It’s basically for people who are brokies who can’t afford the elite visa but not turbo brokies who have at least 500k baht in their bank account and want to stay in Thailand for 5 years

cheapest way to stay in Thailand which is why its so saturated right now
random sexpats can afford to stay there for a few years even unemployed living from little savings
