If you lined up 25 Japanese, 25 Korean, and 25 Han Chinese girls and were asked to identify each of their ethnicities, you would have a low success rate. Some would stand out as being obvious, but the majority would be ambiguous.

Each ethnicity has features that are striking features of that ethnicity (for example, Korean girls with the square jaws and monolids, or Japanese girls with the larger noses). But most do not have any of these features that would allow you to tell them apart.
