i've been to italy and honestly while the food itself was good for what it is it's definitely not some life changing experience. i've gone to italian restaurants owned by immigrants in the US and the pasta/pizza/meats were pretty much similar. it's really easy food to replicate if you have the time, ingredients and equipment
