The life which could result from a sexual encounter thus becomes an enemy to be avoided at all costs, and abortion becomes the only possible decisive response to failed contraception..
The so-called "quality of life" is interpreted primarily... to the neglect of the more profound dimensions—interpersonal, spiritual and religious—of existence.
it is the problem of suffering which challenges faith and puts it to the test.
God therefore is the sole Lord of this life: man cannot do with it as he wills
Ex 21:22; 22:20-26).

21 “Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt

Rom 13:9-10
"Man does not live by bread alone, but... by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord" (Dt 8:3; cf. Mt 4:4).

I think this is a vegan verse.

"When he makes himself an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring,..." (Is 53:10, 11).
Didache:...The way of death is this: ... they show no compassion for the poor, they do not suffer with the suffering,...oppress the suffering, they are advocates of the rich and unjust judges of the poor;
As far as the right to life is concerned, every innocent human being is absolutely equal to all others.
In helping the hungry, the thirsty, the foreigner, the naked, the sick, the imprisoned—as well as the child in the womb and the old person who is suffering or near death—we have the opportunity to serve Jesus

It is therefore essential that man should acknowledge his inherent condition as a creature to whom God has granted being and life as a gift and a duty

One of my favorite quotes because life is a duty.

Other people are not rivals from whom we must defend ourselves, but brothers and sisters to be supported. They are to be loved for their own sakes, and they enrich us by their very presence.

One reason I like this is because self defense seems racist.

rejection of human life... is really a rejection of Christ.
Because he is life and came to bestow it.

In giving life to man, God demands that he love, respect and promote life. The gift thus becomes a commandment, and the commandment is itself a gift.

One of my favorite quotes in this book. I'm not sure why. I think I want to remember quotes that focus on seeing the glass full. The commandments aren't just rules, but an idea that life is good. This also seems to be connected to natalism: when life is a gift, birth is altruism. Somehow this idea matters. It's about being positive and The Bible says a cheerful disposition is good for your health.
