How does one do this?

From my calculations investing 90k into the SNP 500 allows you to live comfortably in the Philipines for the rest of your life.

600 USD a/month cost of living = 7200 USD a year = exact amount the SNP 500 returns a year if you invest 90,000 without additional investments.

You need more. Look up Safe Withdrawal Rate, according to one study it's about 4%. Meaning you need 7200 * (100 / 4) = $180.000 to retire early. There is a whole movement about this called FIRE (financial independence retire early).

the market doesn't go always go up

+ with inflation every dollar gets devalued over time

I wouldn’t rely on withdrawing at all - build up passive income via rentals and dividends - if you can get a 7% return you would want maybe around 700-800k invested then you can get around 40-50k a year
