In this case it prob does. short men are less intelligent, accomplished, attractive, wealthy, etc. on average.
If women are choosing shorter men it isn't because they're all making up for it in some other way.

But the data is worthless - doesn't actually show anything - because it doesn't look at the likelihood of being swiped at various heights.

5' 8" is the most swiped height because the app is manlet heaven for some reason (appeals to ethnics?) and so women end up seeing a ton of short guys and swiping right on more of them total than they do for the rarer tall guys.

If the average short guy is getting more swiped than the average tall guy, the article would use that metric instead.
