Philippines obviously has an extremely generous tourist visa..............but you have to live in the Philippines. What other places are easy to live in long term? @AlexBrown84

Thailand tourist visas are very generous depending on your passport.

I know you mean countries where you can live years without having to leave etc but still, you can stay 6 - 9 months in a calendar year in Thai.

That's why it's perfect as a base.

Tourist visas = 60-90 days

Thailand you can buy the elite visa
Laos & Cambodia were easy, and you could buy business visa for cheap (at least used to be like this few years ago from what I've read)
Latin america has a bunch of easy visas as long as you are making 1-3k$/month
Europe if you are in the European Union

For all the other countries, marrying a girl is the easiest option and that's how so many random guys are staying in harder countries like Japan or Korea

> harder countries

> japan and korea

pick one lol

good to know
weird that they allow it cause their official visas are hard to get
Yeah that’s true, but still is better to have a visa because you get an ARC (Alien registration card). You need an ARC for a lot of important stuff like opening a bank account, ordering online from Coupang(Korean Amazon), post paid SIM cards, food delivery apps.

yep that's true but at least you can stay for as long as you want
with remote work it's not that incovenient

makes it much easier to date someone longterm if that's what you are looking for
and you can get marriage once you are ready

Yeah for sure. Taiwan is the easiest option if you’re planning to live just on visa runs. There’s people living for 10-15 years on tourist visas and the immigration doesn’t care, also there’s less requirement of an ARC for doing basic things like in Korea.
Korea is also doable, but after 2-3 years, you might get flagged, because it’s gotten a bit more strict after covid.

taipei housing is my biggest issue
it's expensive and bad quality
and chinese hard to learn

are you there or have lived there?

Yeah I’ve lived there for a while. It’s true most of the housing is in old buildings, so the facade looks pretty ugly and the quality and sound/weather insulation of the house is pretty bad for the price.

But you can get new serviced apartments too, which have swimming pools and gyms, although they’re obviously more expensive than the regular ones. For service apartments in good areas of Taipei you can get a studio for around 1000$+ and 1 bed for like 1400$+. And they do short term rentals (3-6months) with 1/2 month deposit, so it’s pretty good deal. Something like this one: https://www.mrhost.com.tw/hotel/lamaison-service-apartment

Also in Korea where you’ll need to pay a big deposit (jeonse)if you want to rent long term, which is like anything from 10,000-80,000usd, depending on the area and size of the apartment. So it’s more complicated and expensive than Taiwan, but the quality of housing is also better.

yeah has prices similar to Korea and Japan, but usually ppl don't like Taiwan as much

and in SEA, for that monthly price you can get elite visa in Thailand + good condo
