Date report
I went to this craft beer bar a couple nights ago with my coworker, then we went to KTV. I really Rance-ified him, he is a younger. lower-energy normie who expressed only some interest in the whole hyper-dating lifestyle we have. I assured him, we need to check out the local bars and understand how to use the KTV. He was in talks with a girl on a dating app and I assured him that it would pay off if we were familiar with the landscape.
Yes, it paid off! The weirdest coincidence happened. I arrived a couple minutes late to the bar while the girl I was going on a date with was already there. As soon as I got out of the taxi who do I see? My coworker with his date walking into the bar. I had a slight panic as I thought both my date and his date would thought we coordinated this in some way despite being a coincidence. It wasn't a problem.
I go in the bar and see her, she already has a beer. I order mine. Luckily I'm friends with the bar owner now and we had a nice little chat with him to break the ice. We talk for a bit in Chinese and English. On the dating app (and later WeChat) she made it sound like she knew NO Enlgish, but surprise, that wasn't true. About 80% of our conversation throughout the night was in English, and it was just fine.
Spend maybe an hour and a half at the bar and we go out to get cigarettes. We smoke a bit then I guide her to the KTV. We spend like 3 hours at the KTV singing Chinese, English, and Japanese songs. Great time. Her job is actually a "talent" job for getting Japanese artists to perform in China which I find VERY SEXY! Anyway, as we're singing I end up making out with her and feeling her up. For those 3 hours we go in between singing songs, drinking beer, kissing, feeling each other up. It's great vibes.
Everything has built to its climax and I say something like "man, I really want to sing this (Japanese artist name) song so much but it's not on the KTV, let's go back to my place and I'll give you a great performance". I hit several different angles on bringing her to my home (which was very close in distance) but she wouldn't budge even though it was clear she wanted to. Something like "it's our first date, I know what you're doing, let's do it next time."
She took off her ring, a cheap titanium ring with a heart shape on it, and gave it to me. Then we went outside, smoked another cigarette, kissed a bit, then parted ways.
Even though this is my second date, this was far more interesting than the first date! I have two irons in the fire!
As a recap on the girls situation:
- Girl 1: Medium-tall, elegant lady who's my age. Fits Chinese beauty standards, fairly thin, office worker, somewhat serious, slightly cross-eyed. Seems very into me, but has that catty-but-loving personality. A tsundere, if you're familiar with the term. We only held hands, but text often. English level is 7/10, good. Overall, she's a 5.5.
- Girl 2: Quite short, Japan-loving lady who's 30 years old, so a bit older than me. Has the Xiaohongshu girl vibe... iykyk... kind of feminist presenting. Loves to drink, loves to smoke, seems like a party girl. Sucked each other's tongues but didn't fuck. English level is 5/10, barely passable for English-only conversations. Overall, she's a 5.
@Orientalist Brother, you are definitely going to follow in my footsteps in the coming weeks. Keep us updated on what you're doing and I'll give you advice as best I can. Bread and butter of the whole operation is 1) understanding the local nightlife landscape and 2) slamming the dating apps as hard and fast as you can. Honestly, it's the same formula as when I was in Japan.
Edit: She also knew this really obscure Japanese band that I go crazy over, which freaked me out. Not only that, she worked with them. They wrote the song I wanted to sing on karaoke but didn't have it, which was my opener to invite her to my home.
